The next English Department Colloquium has been scheduled for Friday, November 7, at 3:30 pm in Old Main 106, on the USD campus.   Professor Adrian Weiss will present a lecture entitled "The Book Trade in Shakespeare's Day."

Craig Arnold, a poet and faculty member in the USD English Department, won the poetry slam at the South Dakota Book Festival in Deadwood on Saturday afternoon, October 4th. He received the $100 first prize.

USD and the Vermillion Literary Project were well represented, as Kimberly Raaphorst and Melissa Houghton, both USD English majors and VLP members, participated in the slam.
