Milton Writers Conference Feb. 19-21, 2004
The 2004 John R. Milton Writers Conference is featuring award-winning writers from across the U.S., including Ed Allen, Craig Arnold, Brian Bedard, Vicki Lindner, Adrian C. Louis, Jayne Anne Phillips, Paisley Rekdal, and Lee Ann Roripaugh. The conference is scheduled to be held February 19, 20, and 21. Poets in Vermillion January 8th
Rebecca Lindenberg and Jessica Piazza, two talented young poets, will be stopping in to Vermillion this week en route to their respective graduate programs in Utah and Texas. Everyone is welcome to attend a reading of their work, followed by an informal reception. Festivities will take place at 7 p.m. this Thursday, January 8th, at the Washington Street Arts Building, 202 Washington Street, Vermillion.
Rebecca Lindenberg has edited several literary magazines, including The William & Mary Review in Virginia and Icarus Magazine in Dublin. Her work has received numerous awards, including the Academy of American Poets Prize and the University of Pennsylvania Book Award for the Liberal Arts. A co-director of the Speakeasy Reading Series at Arlene Grocery in New York, she is currently studying for the PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Utah. Jessica Piazza studied Creative Writing and Journalism at Boston University. She has been published in The Formalist and other journals, worked with former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky on the Favorite Poem Project, participated in establishing poetry and slam events in Brooklyn high schools, and co-directs the Speakeasy Poetry Series at Arlene's Grocery in New York City.
